Five people killed, 13 injured in Russia’s shelling of Kharkiv downtown

Five people have been killed and 13 injured in Russia’s shelling of Kharkiv downtown today.

The relevant statement was made by UA Suspilne, referring to Director of the Health Department at Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Maksym Khaustov, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As of 03:00 p.m., five Kharkiv residents were reported killed and 13 injured. These are the preliminary data,” the report states.

Rescuers are working at the scene. The city came under artillery fire after 01:30 p.m.

A reminder that, on April 16, 2022, the Russian military launched the Kalibr cruise missile on Kharkiv’s Slobidskyi District and Osnovianenskyi District. As a result, two civilians were killed, 18 injured. Residential houses, cars, market and stores were damaged and destroyed.
