Russian forces kidnap over 30 government officials in Zaporizhzhia region

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, enemy forces have kidnapped more than 30 local government heads and local deputies in Zaporizhzhia region. Most of the officials have been already released.

Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Starukh said on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"We have more than thirty kidnapped heads of local governments and deputies of local councils. Most of them - more than twenty - have already been released. Some of them have left the occupied territories. Some of them remain to work. The fate of another part is unknown to us,” the governor said.

As Ukrinform reported, in Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian military kidnap heads of territorial communities, local council deputies, journalists and teachers. In particular, in occupied Melitopol, Russian soldiers kidnapped Mayor Ivan Fedorov and head of the city's education department Iryna Shcherbak.
