One person confirmed dead as Russian invaders strike Lysychansk

Russian troops have attacked Lysychansk, eastern Luhansk region, employing heavy weapons. At least one person has been killed as a missile hit an apartment block.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration chief Serhii Haidai has reported the news on Facebook, Ukrinform saw.

“The Russian fascists have fired heavy weapons on Lysychansk... A direct hit at a high-rise building, the SES (State Emergency Service - ed.) crew is continuing to clear the rubble. We already have one victim confirmed,” writes the official.

In the past 24 hours, 26 Russian strikes were recorded in Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, and Kreminna. Sixteen households were damaged, the preliminary report reads.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities and residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages, using artillery, rockets, ballistic missiles, and air bombs.

Martial law was imposed and general mobilization was announced in Ukraine.
