One person killed, one wounded in Russian shelling of Avdiivka community

At least one person was killed and one was injured in Russian shelling of the Avdiivka community, Donetsk region.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko wrote this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"This morning, the Avdiivka community came under attack – at least one person was killed and one was injured, 5 houses were damaged," the governor wrote.

He noted that the situation in the region is steadily tense. The most difficult situation is in Mariupol, where the Ukrainian defenders have been heroically defending the city for almost a month and a half from enemy attacks.

"The Russians continue to fire on civilians along the entire frontline," Kyrylenko said.

He reminded that yesterday, April 7, a Russian helicopter launched an attack on Vuhledar and a was fired at Sloviansk. As a result of the Russian shelling: one person was injured and more than 10 houses were damaged in Sloviansk; it has been reported about one wounded person and many destructions in Vuhledar; four people were injured and two houses were damaged in the Maryinska community.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
