Ukrainian president calls on diplomats to return to Kyiv

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on foreign diplomats to return to work in Kyiv.

He said this during a video address, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The presence of foreign diplomatic missions in Kyiv is the normal work of embassies. This is a clear signal to the aggressor that Kyiv is our capital. Not a Russian provincial city, but the Ukrainian capital," Zelensky stressed, urging diplomats to return to work in Kyiv.

He said that the embassies of Slovenia and Lithuania, as well as the Lithuanian ambassador, had already returned to the Ukrainian capital. He thanked international partners for supporting Ukraine in wartime.

Before Russia started its all-out invasion of Ukraine on February 24, several embassies relocated their operations from Kyiv to Lviv for security reasons.
