Key battles of last night take place in Kyiv region

Ukrainian military are defending themselves and launch a counteroffensive in Kyiv region.

"We hold ground in Kyiv region, move to a counteroffensive, and advance," Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Denysenko said on the air of Ukrainian TV channels, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, the key battles of last night took place primarily in Kyiv region. There were strikes in the area of Vasylkiv, Bila Tserkva. Very serious battles took place near Baryshivka and in the area of Bucha, Hostomel, Irpin.

"Now we are receiving information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I know that we managed to repel quite a lot. In particular, we destroyed 12 tanks, several aircraft, more than 10 armored vehicles, more than 300 people," said the adviser.

According to him, the Russian Federation forcibly takes Ukrainians to Taganrog, Voronezh, and other Russian cities. "It is clear that the Russians are doing this because they need a picture for TV. I think that in the near future they will continue doing something similar. In fact, they completely lost the information war in the first weeks, they were not ready for resistance. And in recent weeks, they start to go on the information counterattacks in Russia clumsily, as they always do, as they cannot enter the [media scene of] Ukraine or Europe," Denysenko said.

On February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin started the large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops shell and destroy key infrastructure, massively fire on residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages using artillery, MLRS, and ballistic missiles.
