Russians looted modern laboratory located in Chornobyl

Russian invaders looted and destroyed the modern Central Analytical Laboratory, located in the exclusion zone around the Chornobyl nuclear power plant (NPP). The total cost of the laboratory is EUR 6 million.

The State Agency for Exclusion Zone Management wrote this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"The Russian occupiers looted and destroyed the modern Central Analytical Laboratory in Chornobyl, which is a unique system with powerful analytical capabilities, which can provide services at any stage of radioactive waste management, from air conditioning to disposal, as well as research and technology development," the report says.

As Ukrinform reported, Chornobyl NPP was captured by Russian troops on February 24, 2022. On March 20, Chornobyl NPP’s personnel were partially rotated and the persons who had been staying within the plant’s site temporarily occupied by Russian troops were evacuated.
