One person killed in Russia’s missile strike on Kyiv this morning

One person has been killed in Russia’s missile strike on the city of Kyiv this morning.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Emergency Service on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“At 08:04 a.m., March 18, 2022, Emergency Service 101 received a call about a fire in a five-storey residential house, which is situated in Podilskyi District,” the report states.

The closest fire and rescue units immediately arrived at the scene and found one to three floors in the residential house on fire, as they were hit with the downed missile fragments.

The fire was localized within an area of 110 square meters at 09:06 a.m. and extinguished at 09:14 a.m.

“According to the preliminary data, 12 persons were rescued, 98 persons were evacuated, four persons were injured. Sadly, one person died. The information is yet to be updated,” the Ukrainian State Emergency Service noted.

A reminder that, on March 18, 2022, Russian invaders launched a missile strike on the residential area in Podilskyi District, Kyiv.
