Russian troops fire on evacuation bus in Luhansk region

Russian aggressor opened fire on a bus during the evacuation of people from Popasna, Luhansk region. However, people managed to leave the town.

“We managed to evacuate people from Popasna even under Russian fire… During the evacuation, the Russians opened fire on a bus and damaged its door. Many thanks to a driver and accompanying police officers for their courage," Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai posted on Telegram.

According to him, it is extremely dangerous to take people out of Hirske or Popasna even in the presence of a "green corridor". Sometimes there is a need to break through Russian heavy shelling. It is even more difficult when there is no ceasefire regime. But today, an evacuation bus managed to reach Popasna and rescue locals who had been living in a bomb shelter for several days.

People were taken by bus to one of the railway stations in Donetsk region, from where they will travel by train to the western regions of the country, Haidai concluded.
