Russian air strike hits town near Kyiv amid evacuation of civilians

During the evacuation of civilians from the town of Izium, Kharkiv region, Russian troops launched an air strike on the area.

Luckily, the attack brought no casualties, as reported by the regional police department, according to Ukrinform.

"An insidious enemy launched an air strike amid the evacuation of civilians from the city of Izium. Fortunately, no one from the Izium District Police and Civilian Administration was injured,” the statement said.

It is noted that 407 buses evacuated civilians today.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, almost 2,000 civilians were evacuated from the city of Izium, Kharkiv region.

On February 24, Russian President Putin launched an invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure, hitting households.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.

Ukraine has officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Criminal Court in The Hague.
