Zelensky, European Council president discuss threat to nuclear facilities in Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky and European Council President Charles Michel in a phone talk discussed the need for preventing threats to nuclear facilities, shelling of civilian and critical infrastructure by the Russian invaders.

Ukrinform reports this with reference to the president’s account on Twitter.

“Held regular talks with European Council President Charles Michel. Discussed the threat to nuclear facilities, shelling of civilian and critical infrastructure. We have to stop this. Raised the issue of Ukraine’s membership in the EU. The people of Ukraine deserve this,” the report says.

As reported, overnight in March 4, the Russian military took control of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Enerhodar. The station was stormed by a column of enemy military vehicles, which included about 100 units.

Earlier, the enemy seized the Chornobyl nuclear power plant.
