Enemy forces shell two schools in Chernihiv, one of them catches fire

In Chernihiv, Russian invaders opened fire on residential buildings and civilian facilities, also shelling two local schools.

The Chernihiv Regional Military Administration has reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"On the evening of March 6 and overnight Monday the 7th, Russian troops shelled households and civilian infrastructure in Chernihiv.

Schools 19 and 20 have been hit. There was no fire in School 20 as a result of shelling. A fire did break out at School 19. A person was injured. Response units of the State Emergency Service were deployed to the scene," the statement reads.

Fire broke out at another 10 locations across Chernihiv region over the past 24 hours. Thirteen people were rescued.

Three people died and two were injured.

According to Chernihivoblenergo JSC, 110 settlements across the region remain without electricity supplies amid ongoing hostilities. Restoration works are carried out wherever it is possible.

The war with Russian invaders has been going on in Ukraine since February 24. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure and households.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.

Ukraine has officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Criminal Court in The Hague.
