Shmyhal calls on IAEA, EU to send peacekeeping teams to nuclear power plants

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal calls on the IAEA and the EU to send peacekeeping teams to nuclear power plants.

"I call on the international community, represented by the IAEA and the EU, to ensure that peacekeeping groups consisting of representatives of the EU, the IAEA and the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine arrive at all five nuclear power plants in Ukraine. It's a matter of world security!” he said in his video address, Ukrinform reports.

Ukraine’s PM reminded that the enemy had been shelling the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in the town of Enerhodar from all sides last night.

On this occasion, the President of Ukraine urgently addressed the leaders of the G7 countries.

In turn, Shmyhal added, he called IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi and said that the enemy could cause the largest tragedy since the Chornobyl disaster in the agony of fear.
