Russian troops shell Pokrovsk with cluster munitions

Russian troops shelled the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region with cluster munitions.

According to Ukrinform, the press service of the Joint Forces Operation reported this on Facebook.

"Russian troops shelled the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, with cluster munitions. The enemy, ignoring all international norms, struck a residential neighborhood and civilian infrastructure of the Ukrainian city. Fortunately, several cassettes that flew into the private homes of the city's residents did not explode," the press service said.

Strikes with cluster munitions, which hit a large area, are by definition indiscriminate, and therefore their use in populated areas is a war crime.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on March 4, in the Donetsk region, Russian invaders killed seven civilians and wounded one.
