Russian tanks pass Makariv, trying to advance toward Kyiv - eyewitnesses

A convoy of Russian tanks has passed the settlement of Makariv near Kyiv and is now trying to push toward the country’s capital.

That’s according to reports by local eyewitnesses, Makariv residents.

There are “a lot” of tanks in the convoy, locals say.

Residents of the village of Andriivka, Makarivsky district, have taken shelter in their household basements.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have called on citizens to destroy enemy armored hardware or report on its movement.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ukrainian military is looking for a convoy of enemy heavy equipment, marked with the letter V, which is moving towards Kyiv.

"These are especially dangerous terrorists who arrived in Ukraine with a special task. The hardware is moving toward Kyiv. It is very important. We appeal to all citizens of the Kyiv region and Kyiv! Everyone who saw, recorded, or knows the location of this convoy, urgently relay data to Ukrainian defenders, or, if possible, not allow their further movement," the Ministry of Internal Affairs urged.
