A Russian shell hit a nine-story building in Kharkiv city, killing a woman.

As the State Emergency Service posted on Facebook, at 21:20 on February 26, they were informed that a 9-storey building in 40a Buchmy Street had been hit by enemy artillery. A carrying wall, staircase and stairs from the 2nd to the 7th floor were destroyed. The building structures of the apartments on 4th, 5th, and 6th floors were also damaged.

Rescuers evacuated about 20 people from the destroyed stair well.

"Unfortunately, as a result of the destruction of the structural elements of the house that came under fire, an elderly woman, a resident of the apartment on the 5th floor, died," the State Emergency Service reported.

About 60 people hid from the shelling in the basement of the house. None of them was injured.

At about 01:30, February 27, the Russian occupiers blew up a gas pipeline in Danylivka district, Kharkiv city.
