Ukrainian soldiers seize several Russian tanks near Chernihiv, capture chief of staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have seized several Russian tanks near Chernihiv and captured two Russian occupiers, one of them the chief of staff of military unit 41659.

According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced this on Facebook.

"During the battles for Chernihiv as a result of a lightning attack together with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine managed to quickly return to their positions and capture two Russian occupiers who did not even have time to react to what happened, were very confused and were forced to surrender and save their life. One of them is the chief of staff of unit 41659," the statement reads.

The captured tanks will be used by Ukraine, the statement added.
