Russia preparing for naval warfare with Ukraine - Denysenko

Russia has now blocked almost all parts of the Black and Azov Seas and is preparing for naval warfare with Ukraine.

That's according to Vadym Denysenko, an adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister, Ukrinform reports.

"Unfortunately, at this point we can say that Russia has already blocked almost all parts of the Black and Azov Seas and is preparing for naval warfare with Ukraine, calling it a 'counterterrorist operation.' We are ready for these moments. We will fight at sea, and, as Churchill said, 'we shall fight on the beaches'," he said.

Earlier reports said that the head of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, on February 24 declared the beginning of a special military operation in Donbas. At about 04:00 on February 24, Russia launched air strikes on Ukraine and started the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that martial law was being imposed across Ukraine.

Early on February 24, the Verkhovna Rada approved Zelensky's decree on the imposition of martial law throughout Ukraine.
