Ukraine’s digital chief turns to YouTube to block Russian propaganda media

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov appealed to the administration of the YouTube platform to block Russian propaganda media outlets.

Fedorov has made the statement via Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"I turned to YouTube to block Russian propaganda media branding us as Nazis and drug addicts, lying and promoting war. I turned to Meta to block Facebook and Instagram. I appealed to Netflix to block their services in Russia," Fedorov said.

He noted that the goal is not to deprive Russians of access to information, but to reach out to the youths, proactive and considerate people. "Your ‘blood-thirsty czar’ is driving you into oblivion so change this now," said Fedorov.

He also added that Russia is already experiencing problems with access to ApplePay.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov called on Apple CEO Tim Cook to stop supplying the company's services and products to the Russian Federation, including blocking access to Apple Store.
