UNICEF gives polio vaccine to Ukraine

KYIV, May 8 /Ukrinform/. The first shipment of humanitarian aid from UNICEF, funded by the Government of Canada consisting of 600,000 doses of inactivated polio vaccine and 1.102 million self-blocking disposable syringes, has arrived in Ukraine.

The press service of Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported.

"The total amount of humanitarian aid with polio vaccine during 2015 that Ministry of Health is expected to obtain is 1.1 million doses of inactivated - IPV, and 3.7 million doses of live - OPV polio vaccines. This volume will serve about 3 million children across Ukraine with polio vaccines manufactured in France, including vaccination of older children who have not been vaccinated in previous years,“ the statement noted.
