Ternopil region hosts All-Ukrainian Festival of Cossack Song

The All-Ukrainian Festival of Cossack Song, dedicated to the 500th anniversary of birth of Prince Dmytro Vyshnyvetsky-Baida and the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland, has kicked off in Ternopil region, western Ukraine.

"We hold the festival on the territory of the prince's palace complex and the remains of the ancient castle. Thus, we draw attention to our historic heritage, we want to attract tourists to the architectural gems of our region," Head of the regional tourism department Nazar Yavorsky said this in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent.

The festival includes competition programs for choirs, vocal ensembles and soloists, vocalists, duets, trios and quartets from all over Ukraine.
