New patrol police officers take oath today in Kherson

New patrol police officers in Kherson have sworn an oath to serve and protect the Ukrainian people and today will begin patrol duties.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, Head of Ukrainian National Police Khatia Dekanoidze, heads of regional and local government took part in the oath taking ceremony, the communication department of the Ukrainian National Police reports.

“Today, on February 8, 2016, in Kherson on the quay of Dnipro, a total of 302 new patrol police officers (241 men and 61 women) swore an oath to serve the Ukrainian people,” reads the report.

According to the Ukrainian interior minister, today’s event is another step forward. He also noted that last autumn 3,200 candidates submitted applications, of whom only 302 completed the education.
