“Winter on Fire”, the documentary about the protests in Ukraine in November-February 2013-2014, is among five nominees for the 87th Academy Awards.

January 14, the Academy announced the short list of the Oscar nominees.
The documentary “Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom” was directed by Russian-born American Evgeny Afineevsky.
“For me, ‘Winter on Fire’ is a cinematic monument to heroes, dedicated to the entire Ukranian nation and the true story of the Maidan Revolution of Dignity,” Afineevsky said in a director’s statement.
