Documentary feature on Chernobyl nominated for Oscar

The documentary feature about the Chernobyl disaster under the title  "The Russian Woodpecker" made it in the long-list of nominees for the Oscar in the best documentary feature of the year category.

Author of the film is American director Chad Gracia. The documentary feature about the accident at the Chernobyl NPP was produced with participation of Ukraine, the USA and the UK.

Cultprostir notes "The Russian Woodpecker" was chosen the best documentary feature at the U.S. Sundance festival of independent cinema in the winter of 2015.

"We are very proud that the history of Ukraine's struggle with the ghosts of the Soviet Union was warmly received by vast audience. We are especially grateful to our distributor, FilmBuff company, which worked hard to make "The Russian Woodpecker" available for viewers around the world," director Chad Gracia told Cultprostir.
