Ukraine welcomes the decision taken by the United States to increase the visa validity period for non-immigrant U.S. visas issued to members of the marine and aircraft crews (C1/D), who are citizens of Ukraine, from 5 to 10 years.

The press release of the Ukraine foreign ministry reports.

“Such measure adopted by the U.S. was a result of joint measures with Ukraine to liberalize the visa regime and encompasses the second largest number of categories for non-immigrant visas issued to citizens of Ukraine (2014 - 9588 visas (15.2% of all issued nonimmigrant visas to citizens of Ukraine). It’s worth noting that the five-year validity for the following types of U.S. visas has been applicable to the European countries, including Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Moldova, Turkey.

The proposal made by Ukraine to raise the validity limit of non-immigrant visas for citizens of Ukraine was introduced for consideration by the U.S. in February of this year. The ruling made by the U.S. to increase the limit of validity for C1/D visa types for the citizens of Ukraine from 5 to 10 years indicates the U.S. readiness for further liberalization of the visa regime for Ukrainian citizens,” a statement said.
