The House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress, following the Senate, has passed a $1.7 trillion spending bill that would provide almost $45 billion in aid to Ukraine and allies in Europe.
Voting in the lower chamber took place on Friday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
Some 225 congressmen voted for the adoption of a comprehensive package, 201 legislators voted against the document, and one abstained.
During the discussions, some Republicans criticized the Democratic majority for planning excessive spending in the 2023 budget. Some representatives of the Republican Party even disputed the need to allocate $45 billion to Ukraine, arguing that it should be covered by Europe.
The Senate adopted the spending package on Thursday. Now the document will be sent to President Joe Biden for his signature.
