NATO supports extending sanctions against Russia

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Wednesday, 21 September 2016, in the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York, the president’s press service reports.

“The President informed about the situation in Donbas and stressed that sanctions against Russia should be continued until full implementation of the Minsk agreements. Jens Stoltenberg confirmed that NATO supports Ukraine's position on sanctions,” reads a report.

Besides, the sides discussed further reforms of the Ukrainian defense sector to achieve NATO standards, and the Ukrainian President once again thanked NATO for assistance in providing treatment and medical rehabilitation to Ukrainian soldiers wounded in the ATO zone.
