President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and U.S. President Barack Obama will hold a meeting during the session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said this on Inter TV Channel on Sunday.

“I believe that a brief meeting will take place,” Klimkin said, noting that President Obama paid special attention to the Ukrainian issue during the recent meeting of G20 leaders.

According to Foreign Minister Klimkin, President Poroshenko will make a speech at the UN General Assembly, and will hold many meetings: “There will be a lot of meetings, in particular, they will be focused not only on Europe, but the U.S. too,” he said.

The 71st session of the UN General Assembly is to begin on September 13 in the organization’s headquarters in New York.
