Ukrainian Foreign Minister to demand to free Crimean activist Umerov at OSCE meeting
Spokeswoman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Mariana Betsa said this during the action in support of Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov, who has been put to compulsory inpatient forensic psychiatric examination in Russia, Crimea.Realities portal reports.
"An informal event of fifty-seven OSCE participating states will be held within the framework of the OSCE activities, and the name of Ilmi Umerov will be voiced. We will continue to speak about all the political prisoners held in Russia and occupied Crimea, who are suffering from the Russia’s reprisals. We demand to stop immediately any repressions against the Crimean Tatars and ethnic Ukrainians in the occupied Crimea. We call on Russia to stop killing Ilmi Umerov. We call on Russia to provide adequate medical care to Ilmi Umerov. We call on Russia to leave Ukraine, to leave Crimea," Betsa said.
