Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright speaking at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has urged Americans to make a right choice in the 2016 presidential race.
Albright criticized Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, whom she called a choice of Russian President Vladimir Putin, own Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The truth is that a Trump victory in November would be a gift to Vladimir Putin—and given what we have learned about Russia's recent actions, Putin is eager for Trump to win. And that should worry every American,” Madeleine Albright said.
Albright noted that she as a person who fled from pro-Soviet Czechoslovakia from “the Iron Curtain” knows what happens when you give the Russians a green light”.
According to her, Trump's dark vision of America, “one that's isolated in the world, alienated from our allies”, would be a disaster.
She stressed that Americans should do everything that the victory of Trump “never happen”.
Trump has already done damage to the country just by running for president, Albright said.
“We must elect Hillary Clinton as our next president,” Albright stated
The FBI is currently investigating the scandal in connection with the leak of about 20,000 stolen emails from the Democratic National Committee’s computer servers so that to compromise the leadership of this political force.
According to a preliminary investigation, researchers concluded that the national committee was breached by Russian intelligence agencies, which were the same attackers behind previous Russian cyberoperations at the White House, the State Department and other U.S. official structures.
