Italian PM: Sanctions against Russia to remain in place until full implementation of Minsk agreements

Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has noted Italy's commitment to maintaining the sanctions against Russia if Moscow does not fulfill the Minsk agreements.

Renzi said this during the meeting with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the press service of the Ukrainian Head of State reports.

"Petro Poroshenko informed about the deterioration of the security situation in Donbas. The parties coordinated positions on the eve of today’s meeting in the G5 + Ukraine format with the participation of US President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, British Prime Minister David Cameron and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi," reads the statement.

The leaders also agreed with the importance to preserve unity in supporting Ukraine today.

Prime Minister Renzi noted Italy's commitment to maintaining the sanctions against Russia if Moscow does not fulfill the Minsk agreements.
