Constitutional Court rules restriction of pensions for judges unconstitutional

The Constitutional Court has announced that the decision on restricting the maximum amount of pensions totaling UAH 10,740 for retired judges is unconstitutional.

The Constitutional Court of Ukraine recognized as unconstitutional the clause of the Law "On the Judicial System and Status of Judges" regarding reducing the amount of the monthly lifetime allowance of judges, the setting of the maximum amount of the allowance and termination of these payments to retired judges for the period of their work in certain positions.

The relevant Constitutional Court’s ruling was announced today, June 10, by Constitutional Court Chairman Yuriy Baulin, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
