Ministers of Normandy format states to discuss pilot Savchenko release
Dmytro Kuleba, the Ambassador at Large of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, said this on the air of Channel 5.
According to him, diplomats continue to seek ways to return Savchenko to her homeland. In addition, negotiations on release of other Ukrainian political prisoners are ongoing.
"Russia has assumed the attitude that Ukrainian political prisoners may be released only after they are sentenced by Russian courts. So, we need to wait for verdicts in the cases of Stanislav Klykh and Mykola Karpyuk, as well as in cases of other political prisoners. Russia simply simulates administration of justice as all the cases are trumped-up," Kuleba said.
The meeting of foreign ministers of Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia is scheduled for May 11.
