Official Washington has no intention to combine sanctions against Russia related to the illegal annexation of the Crimean peninsula of Russia and its aggression in eastern Ukraine.

The sanctions will be prolonged until Moscow leaves Crimea and implement the Minsk agreements.

U.S. State Department Spokesperson John Kirby made a statement on Tuesday in Washington, D.C., the own Ukrinform’s American correspondent reports.

"Overall, the existing sanctions imposed by us on Russia to put pressure on the Russian government to respect Ukraine's sovereignty, it’s territorial integrity, including regaining Ukraine’s control over its eastern part. We're going to extend the sanctions until Russia implement its obligations under the Minsk agreements," said Kirby.

The sanctions that were imposed because of Crimea occupation, according to U.S. Spokesperson, "will remain in effect as long as there the Russian occupation and annexation continue."
