The Western countries should facilitate visa requirements for Ukrainians to help them better understand the values of the Western world.
Former Speaker of the OSCE SMM Michael Bociurkiw said this at the conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"How can the West help Ukraine? Now it is not the time for a country like Canada to restrict the issuance of visas for honest hard-working Ukrainians," he said.
According to him, now the level of Canada’s visa refusals to Ukrainians amounts to about 30%. "This is a very high index. The new government should pay attention to it," he said.
The former OSCE SMM speaker stressed that the Ukrainian people should actively attempt to gain international experience. "It is time for young Ukrainians to benefit from scholarships and internships abroad," he said.
