Minsk process at stage of approving laws on elections - Steinmeier

The issue on promoting the Minsk process, especially its political part, is one of the main issues of a meeting in Brussels on Monday, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier says.
“Currently we are at the stage when the law on local elections should be approved. For this purpose, barriers should be overcome not only with a view to Ukraine-separatists-Russia relations, but also in the Ukrainian parliament,” the German diplomat said before a meeting of EU foreign ministers, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
Steinmeier also noted that he with colleagues had already heard the information from the Ukrainian foreign minister “on the ongoing process of reforms, including the adoption of laws, as well as the reforming of the judicial system and the fight against corruption, where much is still to be done”.
