The European Union plans to extend the imposed economic sanctions against Russia for another six months.

Spain Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo told reporters in Brussels on Wednesday, German DW reports.

According to the Foreign Minister of Spain, there exists "a general agreement" in the EU to move towards the extension of sanctions against Russia for another six months.

This information, as indicated by a source, is confirmed by other diplomats from the EU. According to them, this resolution ought to be only formally confirmed.
