World community praises Ukraine efforts to combat corruption - Poroshenko
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko told reporters at the presentation of the anti-corruption prosecutor Nazar Kholodnytsky, Ukrinform reports.
"Yesterday I was in Paris. I held more than 30 talks with heads of states and government who are our partners. When I told them that what has occurred today and it did take place because it's already happened after your decision was released to public, Mr. Prosecutor General, on nominating the anti-corruption prosecutor, all persons are very favorably evaluate the steps that Ukraine is now organizing to tackle corruption," he said.
He noted that the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, and conducting impartial, independent investigation of corruption cases, operational work to identify corruption are the very efforts that the public and the entire world anticipate from Ukraine authorities.
Poroshenko said: "Today a team has been formed, which will conduct an effective battle against corruption. The combination of efforts made by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office today will result in actions today which are expected by the Ukrainian people and the whole world - effective measures to combat corruption."
