Poroshenko thanks Dutch Parliament for ratifying EU-Ukraine Association Agreement

“The head of state thanked the Dutch Parliament for supporting the ratification of an Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union. The President expressed hope for positive results of the Dutch consultative referendum on the Association Agreement, which is to be held on April 6, 2016,” reads a report.
Poroshenko noted that “Ukraine is returning to Europe. We are a nation with the thousand-year European history,” Petro Poroshenko stressed.
Leaders of the Dutch Parliament confirmed readiness to support Ukraine in its fight against foreign aggression. They also noted the importance of preserving the policy of non-recognition of Russia’s annexation of Crimea.
“We fully support the Ukrainian people in the everyday fight for independence against the aggressor,” President of the Senate Ankie Broekers-Knol said.
Also, the sides noted the need of administering punishment to those guilty of MH-17 tragedy in July 2014.
In addition, the parties discussed a range of issues on bilateral cooperation.
President Poroshenko congratulated Dutch MPs on the 200th anniversary of the Parliament of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
