U.S. President Barack Obama signed the defense budget for 2016, authorizing, among other things, $300 million assistance for Ukraine.

This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States.

"November 25, 2015, U.S. President Barack Obama signed the revised budget for the needs of the national defense or 2016. The law foresees, among other things, $300 million for Ukraine forces, including $50 million which may be used to provide our state with the defensive arms,” reads the statement.

As a reminder, the budget stipulates $300 million in defense and security assistance to Ukraine. These funds may be used to train Ukrainian servicemen, to transfer intelligence data, non-lethal or lethal weapons. It should be mention that Obama's attitude to providing lethal weapons remains negative.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has already thanked U.S. leader Barack Obama for the military aid on his Twitter page, describing it as an example of partnership, solidarity and support.
