Russia has opened criminal case over "the contempt of the Chechen court" against Vira Savchenko, sister of Nadiya Savchenko.

Lawyer Ilya Novikov posted this on Twitter.

"They still want to hold Vira Savchenko liable for contempt of the Chechen court. We are taking measures. Do not panic," Novikov posted.

As a reminder, the Russian investigation accuses Nadiya Savchenko under the articles "murder" and "attempted murder." Nadiya Savchenko denies all charges. Vira Savchenko is the only witness for defense in her sister’s trial. She also went to the Chechen Republic to attend the court hearing in the case of Mykola Karpyuk and Stanislav Klykh.
