The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation rejected the appeals filed by Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov and activist Oleksandr Kolchenko and upheld the sentence for them.

This is reported by the Radio Liberty.

"The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld the sentence for Sentsov and Kolchenko," reads the statement.

The interests of the Ukrainians were represented by lawyers Dmitry Dinze and Svetlana Sidorkina. Lawyer Dinze asked "to return the case to the prosecutor’s office at least."

As reported, Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov and activist Oleksandr Kolchenko were sentenced to 20 and 10 years in prison, respectively, on the trumped-up accusations of plotting the terrorist attack in Crimea.
