Baltic countries support European aspirations of Ukraine
It is stated in a joint statement following a meeting by Prime Minister of Latvia Laimdota Straujuma, Prime Minister of Estonia Taavi Roiva, Prime Minister of Latvia Algirdas Butkevicius, and Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
“Three Baltic countries not only politically support more close integration of Ukraine with the EU, but render practical assistance to Ukraine via sharing experience in the realization of refomrs in the sphere of regional policy, forestry, combating corruption, and education, during the meeting they confirmed that the Baltic countries will further assist Ukraine, as we all agree that safe, democratic and economically strong Ukraine respond not only our interests, but the interests of all neibours and Europe on the whole,” reads the statement,
According to the heads of government, the active and consolidated policy of the EU aimed at the supporting realization of reforms in Ukraine, should be supported.
Yatsenyuk, in turn, informed his counterparts on the Ukrainian government’s achievements in the process of reforms.
