Within the transport corridor Donetsk-Kurakhove on Tuesday, 3 November, the check point for entry and exit was reopened after a five-month pause.

Locals report the news through social networks.

According to them, about 100 cars piled at the reopening there, but their inspection was carried out very rapidly.

As a reminder, Kurakhove checkpoint was closed as a result of rebels’ attempts to storm the village of Maryinka on June 3.

The decision to reopen it was made because of the hike in number of people crossing the contact line, and necessity to ease traffic at the already operating checkpoints at Zaitseve, Novotroitske, Hnutove.

The Eastern regional directorate of the State Border Service of Ukraine notes Kurakhove checkpoint is equipped with eight workstations for inspectors.
