Poroshenko promises Ukrainian passports to foreign citizens participating in ATO

The president said following online petition regarding this issue, the press service of the head of state reports.

“Taking into account the current need to solve the issue on granting Ukrainian citizenship to foreign nationals who protected and are protecting the territorial integrity, if documents of these persons are submitted to the presidential commission for the issues of citizenship, they will be urgently considered by the Head of the State, and a decision in line with the legislation will be taken,” the president said.

Poroshenko stressed that the law on citizenship of Ukraine foresees a simplified procedure on rendering citizenship to nationals who have rendered great services to the country, and persons to whom the grating of Ukrainian citizenship are of state interest.
