Cameron, Merkel agree to prolong sanctions against Russia

British Prime Minister David Cameron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel agreed that the European Union must prolong sanctions against Russia until Minsk agreements on settlement of the situation in the east of Ukraine are fully implemented.

During the meeting, the two heads of states also stressed the importance of financial and practical support for Ukraine.

Talking about Ukraine and Russia's actions, Cameron welcomed the progress that was provided by Chancellor Merkel and French President Francois Hollande due to the Minsk format, the press service said.
