Petrenko against full cancelation of MPs’ immunity

Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko has said he is against the full abolition of MP’s immunity.
The minister said this at a press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“I’m not a supporter of the full cancellation of immunity… But it is a fact that MPs’ and judges’ immunity should be limited,” Petrenko said.
The minister said that in case of the full immunity abolition, the parliament would become independent from the president and the law enforcement agencies, what would affect its impartiality.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expects the parliament to approve at first reading during the current session the amendments to the Constitution regarding the cancelation of MPs’ immunity and the limitation of judges’ immunity.
