Yatseniuk says Russia complicates visa free regime introduction in Ukraine

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said that because of the inflow of migrants in the European Union due to the Russian military operation in Syria, not all political forces in the European Union will support the introduction of visa free regime for Ukraine.

The Ukrainian premier said this at a parliamentary meeting on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The Russian military operation in Syria and hundreds of thousands of migrants, who are inflowing to the European Union, doesn’t give political confidence that all political forces in the European Union will unanimously support the introduction of visa free regime,” the head of the government said.

At the same time, Yatseniuk called on the MPs to approve a package of legislative acts needed for the introduction of visa free regime with the EU.

“Our common purpose is to approve all laws, complete all technical procedures, and do not give any chance to accuse Ukraine of not fulfilling this or that procedure, this or that standard, which is a prerequisite for the introduction of the free visa regime,” the prime minister said.
