Militants can declare fake elections abolished – Poroshenko

President Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with leaders of parliamentary factions and informed them on the results of the negotiations in the Normandy format held in Paris on October 2.

The press service of the Head of State reported.

"We have information that tomorrow militants will declare pseudo-elections of October 18 and November 1 abolished," the President said.

"There is no alternative to the holding of true elections under the Ukrainian law and OSCE criteria for the settlement of crisis in Donbas," the President emphasized.

At the same time, the President emphasized that Ukrainian political parties, CEC and media must act freely during the elections. He also noted that IDPs must have the right to participate in the elections.
