EU urges Russia, Ukraine to sign final gas agreement

The European Commission appeals to Russia and Ukraine to sign a final agreement on Russian gas supplies to Ukraine and its transit to the EU.
European Commission representative Anna-Kaisa Itkonen said this, an Ukrinform correspondent reports from Brussels.
"On September 25, minister Demchyshyn explained [Volodymyr Demchyshyn, Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine] the reasons why Ukraine and Russia had not signed it. Obviously, it is an issue for both sides," she said.
As a reminder, on September 25, Ukraine, Russia and the European Commission previously agreed on supplies of Russian gas in the winter period of2015-2016.
